New Crib Requirements for Childcare Providers

Great organizations like the Consumer Product Safety Commission, KIDS in Danger, and the Illinois Attorney General’s office have joined together to get stricter standards.  Kids In Danger has written an excellent blog to bring childcare providers up to date on the lates crib standards.  In Illinois, drop-sided cribs cannot be sold to consumers in any store.  Parents are being advised to consider an “immobilizer” for their existing cribs.  Watch the video at the CPSC.gov website for information on checking your drop-side cribs.

Childcare providers have a slightly different standard.  Childcare providers will be required to replace any drop-side cribs that they are currently using with non-drop-side cribs by December 2012.  Read on…..
